About FractalliciousAnd why we've gone ecommerce ...
This site is born of impeccable timing and the entreprenurial spirit, artistry and creativity of two out-of-the-box sisters, Pam Blackstone and Rhys del Valle.
The new Fractallicious began as an agreement that would facilitate studio time and creative room for Pam, as the fractal artist, to focus on her craft while Rhys managed the front end of its marketing and distribution.
Rhys, a respected silversmith and a former gallery owner, was keenly aware of the challenges artists face in managing production and sales. As a fan of Pam's work, Rhys was inspired by the myriad ways she could envision the successful use of her designs on merchandise like puzzles, mousepads, note cards, book covers, calendars, iPod skins, etc.
The details of selling her designs for merchandise felt particularly cumbersome to Pam who was interested in adding rather than detracting from her already pressing schedule. Over several years Pam had listed her work through several stock photography sites where she was collecting encouraging and positive statistics, and a reasonable income.
With her designs proven in the marketplace, and tiring of the middleman, Pam returned to a dialog with Rhys regarding the use and distribution of her designs. What emerged was the concept of building a point and click, affordable, Royalty-Free site that would pass the savings of removing the middleman on to her customers. The site would simultaneously have the capacity to direct sell merchandise featuring Pam's designs.
With delightfully thorough and organic explorations, a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, numerous phone calls, exhaustive writing and brainstorming, a couple of hiccups and plenty of wine, we launched Fractallicious.com.
Welcome. We hope you find what you’re looking for right here!
